Please join the University of Waterloo April 20th 1:00-2:30pm as we honour professor emeritus Frances Westley, whose pioneering work in Social Innovation earned her a recent Order of Canada. The event, Social Innovation Foundations & Futures is free and, open to the public.
Westley will be joined for a panel discussion featuring giants in the world of social innovation, all of whom have moved social innovation forward in Canada as principals in the original SiG network and with programs specifically designed to offer creative solutions to problems facing marginalized Canadians. Our guests will use the opportunity to reflect upon the development and state of social innovation research and action in Canada.
Hosting the panel is Melanie Goodchild, an expert in facilitation with the Indigenous Innovation Initiative at Grand Challenges Canada, Reconciliation Canada, Centre for First Nations Governance, NASA’s Earth Sciences Capacity Building Program and most recently the Academy for Systems Change.
