There are really people out there saying and believing that climate change is caused by immigration and poor folks. Not only that, but in some cases they spread the dangerous narrative that climate change and pandemics are the cure for so-called “overpopulation.” Sometimes the discourse is overt, sometimes it’s subtle. Too often it leads to violence against marginalized communities.

This is ecofascism. It is white supremacist, racist, xenophobic, ableist, sexist, transphobic, and classist. We need to actively resist this right-wing propaganda, communicate clearly and effectively about the ecological crisis, and organize to secure our people from ecofascist attacks.
