Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is inherently a flawed measurement of a society’s success. Yet, it continues to dominate the space as the measurement to compare countries against one another and more importantly, influence global policymaking.

Rutger Hoekstra is a leading thinker in understanding how to move beyond GDP. During this 90 minute webinar, Rutger will provide an overview of the scientific measurement and valuation approaches that have been proposed in the last 50 years. In addition, he will discuss strategies that should be adopted to enhance measurement and policies which will focus on human and environmental wellbeing. A new project hosted by the United Nations University (“The WiSE Transformation”) will be implementing this strategy in collaboration with the Wellbeing Economy Alliance.
