Bobi Steel is pursuing a PhD in the Department of Anthropology at McGill University; he holds a BA in Music and an MSc in Sustainability and Consultancy, both from the University of Leeds. His research interests lie in the existence of steady-state communities and how lessons from these communities can be disseminated into global education systems in a collaborative and non-appropriative manner. A musician by training, Bobi also holds keen interests in inter- and transdisciplinary place-based pedagogy, and how community building can encourage the development of systemic approaches towards everyday interventions for climate change and ecological breakdown, and tackle feelings of climate dread and activism burnout. Outside of his research, Bobi can normally be found singing, rowing, or poring over the literary works of Margaret Atwood.
