Shashank Poudel

L4E PhD Fellow – University of Vermont

Shashank is pursuing a PhD in the Department of Community Development and Applied Economics at the University of Vermont. He wants to engage with ecological economics as a wide array of tools and principles in policy thinking that strive to listen more than they try to tell. With a geographical focus on South Asia, he is interested in studying the margins and intersections of ecology, economics, (prefigurative) politics, and society to co-imagine more participatory policy practices.  Born and raised in Nepal, Shashank has worked in a wide variety of roles, albeit briefly in each. His eclectic experiences have continued to reinforce his desire, which he thinks most people share, of not having the need to do anything but having the choice to do many.
