Rubaina is a PhD student in University of Vermont’s Sustainable Development Policy, Economics, and Governance program. Hailing from Bengaluru, she has over 6 years of experience working on climate and environmental issues in development, consulting on a wide range of topics including climate resilience, environmental policy lending, climate-induced migration, and greenhouse gas accounting. In her research, she will explore how climate and environmental policies affect welfare and inequality in South-East Asia and South Asia. She will use complex systems approaches to improve climate-economy modeling, while making more critical inquiries on distributional justice and power. Rubaina holds a master’s degree in environmental management from Duke University and a bachelor’s in civil engineering from BMS College of Engineering.
