Formed in 2018, DegrowUS is a loose collective of degrowth advocates from across the United States. We are part of an international movement for a voluntary transition toward just and participatory societies within ecologically vibrant worlds. This event is for veteran snails and the degrowth-curious alike. The idea is to educate each other and make connections. Activists and academics will introduce degrowth and situate it in the US context. Then we will split into regional breakout groups to virtually meet others with whom we can organize to degrow our part of the country in 2021. It's part teach-in, part speed dating.
