Esteban is a PhD candidate in the Department of Anthropology at McGill University. His doctoral research traces the journey of entheogenic plants from the Amazon rainforest to his hometown of Medellín, Colombia, exploring how these sacred substances are being embraced as catalysts for urban healing and ecological regeneration.

He holds a Master’s degree in Building and Urban Design in Development from University College London and a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the National University of Colombia. His work is rooted in a passion for reimagining cities through participatory, inclusive, and regenerative approaches.

Outside academia, he draws inspiration from hiking, photography, travel, dance, meditation, and yoga.
